Purchasing Agent – Elk Grove Village, IL

Responsibilities

    • Maintain current customer and vendor relationships
    • Assist wtih inventory control to include inventory review to reduce and eliminate any obsolete materials
    • Analyze data to optimize inventory turns and maintain sufficient inventory to meet customer demands
    • Work efficiently with other internal departments in the branch
    • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

    • High School diploma is required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • 3+ years experience in purchasing or relevant business experience is required; preferably in a distribution environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
    • Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Must be able to multi-task and must be detail oriented
    • Must be a problem solver and demonstrate good negotiation skills
    • AS400 experience is highly preferred



Purchasing Manager – Elk Grove Village, IL

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current customer and vendor relationships
  • Control the number of inventory turns to meet budget guidelines
  • Control the 120 Day inventory to meet budget guidelines
  • Maintain preferred vendor emphasis
  • Maintain leadership, training and development of purchasing department efforts, including the management of purchasing agents
  • Negotiate vendor pricing/terms/promotions-programs
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal staff (Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Accounting) to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Maintain price changes in the AS400 system
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years experience in purchasing or relevant business experience is required; preferably in a distribution environment
  • Minimum of 1 year previous supervisory experience
  • Must possess executive level communication skills with proficient PC skills to include Microsoft Office
  • Must possess strong planning, organizational and time management skills, as well as strong analytical problem solving skills
  • Must be able to multi-task with the ability to change direction quickly and often
  • Must possess excellent negotiating skills
  • AS400 experience is highly preferred
